Roy F. Guste
Jr.,
the past 5th generation proprietor of New Orleans' famous Antoine's
Restaurant has re-printed the valued and sought after, "Antoine's
Cookbook" and intends to be re-printing, slowly but surely, all of
his other nine cookbooks. In future they will be available for
you to purchase on this web site.
Roy
Guste writes about the Cuisine of New Orleans, Louisiana,
Creole
Cuisine and a laboriously researched New Orleans Culinary
History, and the history of Louisiana cooking.
His studies of food
and food research are directly attributed to the authenticity,
beauty and accurate history and recipes contained in these wonderful
volumes.
His list
of cookbooks include "Antoine's Restaurant Cookbook", "The
Restaurants of New Orleans Cookbook", "The 100 Greatest New
Orleans Creole Recipes", "The Tomato Cookbook",
"Gulf-Coast Fish", "The Bean Book", "Louisiana
Light". He also acted as developmental editor for both "The Leon
Galatoire Cookbook" and 'Broussard's Restaurant Cookbook".
Planned for future publication by WW Norton & Company is his complete
volume on the entirety of New Orleans classic Creole Cuisine, "The
New Orleans Cookbook", which explains the history of the development
of true cuisine of New Orleans, Creole Cuisine, with some 800 recipes of
all levels of dishes from the simplest and most often prepared of local
recipes to renditions of the famous dishes of the great New Orleans
restaurants. This book is filled with history and stories that will keep
any cook and culinary enthusiast glued to the pages for a very long time.
There has never been a book published on New Orleans food and cooking as
filled with a wealth of recipes and history as this work.
Guste is also author of "The Secret Gardens of The Vieux Carre",
a glorious coffee-table photographic work of the hidden gardens behind the
walls of the French Quarter homes. Referred to as "an elusive
collectible", plans to reprint this marvelous and cherished work are
